With the start of our picture-taking of the place, I left out the obvious, that being what does the place look like? Above are two shots, one from the front gate, the other from the house to the front gate…..enjoy.
This represents a part of my belief system.
From the distance I can hear that thought from some that have found this site. That is true, at this moment there is not a vine one on our farm yet. I am a believer in having vision before one is capable in having dreams becoming a reality. It is one of the Lord’s greatest gifts to us all. Sadly, many of us, lack the courage and belief in one’s self to exercise this gift. Today, my wife and I see this dream in its finished reality. It just a matter of a little time.

In the purchase of our new farm, having the best in water available to the property was our first requirement. We are proud to relate that our farm and future vineyard is on the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. It is known to be the finest ground water in the country. It comes from the well behind our home. The water in its recent tests was tested to be “Perfect.” In fact, the same water that Ozarka bottles for their water, is the same water that comes out of our well. This will be the water that will water our vineyard, as well as our future vegetable and fruit production, with additional great water for our cattle production.

Sunshine upon our Antique Wine-Press at Silver Star Winery of Texas.
Within days of the purchase of our farm, a phone call came to us from a dear friend in Dallas. She is the major buyer for all the fine wines that a chain of liquor stores imports to its outlets across the United States. She has been with the company close to thirty years.
She was very excited in her call. It seems while cleaning out an old warehouse, a very old antique wine-press was found. It is estimated that the press is over a hundred years old. The company was getting ready to take it to the dump. We gladly accepted taking it as a free gift. It took a forklift to place it in a pick-up truck and bring it to our new farm in Eustace, Texas.
This fine lady of a wine-press will become the center of displays for our future wine tasting room at Silver Star Winery of Texas. A fitting gift for a dream that will soon unfold in beautiful East Texas.

The following pictures were taken today of our upcoming three-quarters of an acre private gardens. Included are the beginnings of raised beds with potatoes and onions planted including various fruit trees planted in one corner. In this day and age of rapidly raising food prices and questionable chemically treated vegetables and fruits, family health in proper eating with safe food has become a priority to many.

A Light of Blessing Upon Silver Star Winery of Texas shortly after purchase.
This first posting represents the beginning a dream for both Linda Stewart Rigo and her husband, John J. Rigo in their purchase of this twenty-nine acre farm in Eustace, Texas. It is located at 12551 FM Road 2709, one mile from Highway 175, nine miles from Gun Barrel City and ten miles from Athens, Texas.
It is the eventual goal of the owners of this property in coming to fruition, to be a working farm and ranch providing fruits and vegetables to the marketplace, including a By-Invitation-Only-Private-Star-Club, consisting of a “Botique Vineyard” (copyrighted), and a wine-tasting room. Cattle will also be provided on the grazing portion of the property.
